Corrosive and Anti Bacterial fluids and often used for cleaning food production lines to eliminate the risk of food contamination. The use of these aggressive cleaning fluids require valves manufactured and constructed from Stainless steel that are comparable with these corrosive cleaning agents. Additionally solenoid and pressure control valves will need to work in usually humid and corrosive environments and extreme room (Ambient) temperatures.
Solenoid valves, angle seat piston valves and FRL air treatment equipment for food production are generally made from stainless steel due to the materials contaminant resistant qualities. The food manufacturing / process industry requires a range of stainless steel solenoid valve functionality for the varied applications deployed within the industry and as such specific stainless steel components have been developed to meet such needs.
When processing Cereals, Animal Fodder and Powdered Milk will produce a Dusty Hazardous environment. Dust can when mixed with air create a potentially explosive atmosphere that could be ignited by a spark or flame. There is always a chance that due to the moisture or through general use the solenoid coil may fail and generate an ignition source. So, for all hazardous environments it is very important that an ATEX rated solenoid valve is used.
There are 3 main types of ATEX solenoid valve typically found,
Solenoid valves with an ATEX EExmIIT4 - encapsulated coil with low power consumption and thermal fuse
Solenoid valves with ATEX EExdIICT6 - Flame proof totally enclosed solenoid valve coil.
Solenoid valves with ATEX Exia - Intrinsically safe with very low power coil

RLT Direct acting pressure relief valves are made from 316 stainless steel for the food processing industry. Designed as a pressure safety relief valve to protect food processing systems from over pressure. The pressure relief valve is designed to stay closed until the upstream system pressure reaches the maximum pressure setting, at which point the pressure relief valve will open quickly releasing the excess pressure downstream thus protecting all process equipment up steam from over pressure system damage. When the system pressure reduces back to safe limits the pressure relief valve will slowly close preventing water hammer. BFL-S pilot operated pressure relief valve compact cylindrical design offers high flow and robust internal piton structure. Made from either 304 or 316 stainless steel is designed to protect food processing systems from over pressure damage. The pressure relief valve will stay closed until the up steam pressure reaches the pre-set pressure setting at which time the pressure relief valve will open quickly releasing excess pressure downstream, thus protecting all upstream equipment from excess pressure damage. BFF-S pilot operated float valve compact cylindrical design offers high flow and robust internal piston structure, manufactured from either 304 or 316 grade stainless steel and is designed to allow simple mechanical water tank refilling via an external pilot or float valve. The pilot float valve is installed into a water tank at a point according to the required water level. The BFF main valve is then connected to the main water supply ideally above the maximum water level into the tank and a control pipework is then connected to the pilot float controller. When the tank water level drops the float valve will drop accordingly and in tune the main valve will open to refill the water tank, when the float valve rises to the maximum setting it will close the main refill valve automatically. Its works like a stop cock in a toilet cistern. How this is done is actually quite simple, the floating valve when lifted and closed allows for a generation of water back pressure which causes the main valve internal piston to close. When the water level drops the float valve drops and opens releasing back pressure holding the main valve piston closed. Main line water now overcomes the piston back pressure opening the main valve and refilling the tank. In turn the water level rise again thus repeating the cycle.
