Brass and stainless steel solenoid valves for vacuum applications ranging from slight vacuum, suction systems, medium vacuum for vacuum packaging and lifting systems to full vacuum applications exceeding 10 -6 Torr for pharmaceutical, chemical processing and analytical test systems. A good Vacuum solenoid valve does not require a differential pressure to operate and will be either direct acting or assisted lift diaphragm, port sizes available from 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 11/4", 11/2" and 2" thread and flanged sizes from DN15 upwards.
It is important that the recommended seal for vacuum systems is used, from experience NBR (Nitrile Buna Rubber) is best suited as EPDM or Viton (FKM) have a tendency to stick after a while, PTFE resists sticking but has poor elastomer properties hence any small debris ingress will prevent sealing.
Most control voltages are available from stock including 12vdc,24vdc,48vdc,110vdc and 220vdc or 12vAC,24vAC,48vAC,110vAC,220vAC,230vAC, 240vAC and 315-480vAC for safe area or ATEX Hazardous Area applications.
Brass Solenoid valves with assisted lift diaphragm are one of the most common vacuum brass solenoid valves and are available from 3/8" through to 2" BSP, with flanged options PN16 or ANSI150Lb sizes DN15,DN20,DN25,DN32,DN40,DN50,DN65,DN80 and DN100. The assisted lift also known as hung diaphragm or kick pilot solenoid valve do not require a differential pressure to operate and offer high flow through large orifice, typically similar orifice to port size. For example the PU22004 1/2" vacuum solenoid valve has a 13mm orifice (flow path) offering high vacuum flow, good sealing capabilities and better suited for medium to high vacuum systems. |

Miniature Brass Solenoid valves with direct acting function are also available for vacuum applications and are one of the smallest vacuum brass solenoid valves in the market. The direct acting function or spool vacuum solenoid valve do not require a differential pressure to operate, but can suffer reduced flow through smaller orifice. For example the PU220 1/4" valve has only a 2.3mm orifice but the AD12 1/2" vacuum valve having an 8.0mm orifice but offer better sealing properties than diaphragm valves especially when used in slight vacuum or suction systems.
